Narrowboat Pied Piper

I managed to get out for a brief visit to Braunston last week. Here is a picture of narrowboat Pied Piper making its way through Braunston passing narrowboat Ubique who have their own blog. Ubique is currently experiencing problems with its fuel system. Unfortunately Ubique is moored left of image where it is not so easy to get a decent picture, so this one will currently suffice as meeting the needs of  ‘Bloggers That I’ve Imaged’. Granny Buttons and Piston Broke were moored here some months ago and proved equally difficult to image. I continue to keep an eye out for them passing my direction again.

Narrowboat Images – Pictures Of Canals and British Waterways.

It has been a while since I last posted some images on this site. I must really try and get out this weekend to capture some autumn images before all the leaves have blown away.

A couple of pictures here captured between Whilton and Weedon on the Grand Union Canal a couple weeks ago.

Busy Lizzie moored on private moorings near Whilton.

I was unable to recall the name of the narrowboat in the picture below, and the angle of the original photograph is such that the name can’t be read. If anyone knows the name of this colourful character please leave a comment below.

P.S. This post title so named for Granny Buttons.

Aside from Granny Buttons I confess to being a regular reader of the following blogs:
Halfie, Lazy Days, Derwent6, Balmaha, Piston Broke, Oakfield, Sanity, and No Problem. There are of course numerous other narrowboat blogs which I dip in and out of on a fairly frequent basis.

All of this blog following seems to help with the waiting until such time that I can move onto the canal system with my own narrowboat and collect images from all over the network and from a different angle other than viewed from the towpath.

Narrowboat And Duck

A narrowboat and a duck. Pictured at bridge 50 (candle bridge) on the Grand Union Canal approaching Blisworth tunnel. Candle Bridge is so named as the cottage at the canal side near this bridge used to sell candles to the boatmen which were used for lighting whilst negotiating the Blisworth tunnel.
